Notebook of a travelling painter
Every country lent her a new way of looking.
From Luarca to the Baltic, from English to Swedish: a body of work made of languages, airports, and a home that changed countries more than once.
I paint because not painting is not a choice: it's in my DNA. How you look at things matters in every part of life — in painting, it's everything.
Teresa García Justo has been drawing since she was a child — her father and grandfather did before her. She works mostly in acrylic, guided more by instinct than by calculation, and what interests her most, she says, is light and colour. This is a brief sample of her paintings — the full story is in her biography.

Born in Luarca in 1957, into a family that already drew. She taught English, flew with Iberia, and married a Swede. She has lived in Sweden, France and the United States, and learned to look at the world in every one of those languages. She has been painting for as long as she can remember.
